Operations Manager

Operations Manager

Operations Manager

8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. · Primarily on-site in the cabinet shop

Ivy Cabinets is looking for a hands-on leader who can organize daily production, support our crew, and keep cabinet projects moving through the shop, finishing, delivery, and installation.

We welcome an experienced Operations Manager or a proven cabinet shop lead ready for broader responsibility. This is a working leadership position: you will build alongside the crew while planning ahead, coordinating work, and holding the team to clear expectations.

What you will do

  • Review the production schedule two to three weeks ahead; anticipate materials, staffing, equipment, and capacity needs.

  • Set daily priorities, assign work, monitor progress, and adjust workloads.

  • Answer production questions, solve problems, and contribute directly to fabrication and assembly.

  • Monitor quality and ensure deficiencies are corrected before work advances.

  • Coordinate with design, finishing, delivery, and installation; bring scheduling conflicts to Will early with practical solutions.

  • Train employees, reinforce safe work practices, and maintain clear shop procedures.

  • Coordinate purchasing, Kanban replenishment, equipment maintenance, cutting-tool service, and outside repairs.

  • Coordinate CNC programming priorities and the cut schedule; support accurate purchasing records and job-cost information.

  • Work with Scott on improvements and communicate significant operational concerns.

Responsibility and authority

Final duties will reflect your experience and the strengths of our existing crew. Purchasing, programming, maintenance, administrative, and training tasks may be assigned to other team members. Within your assigned scope, you own coordination and follow-through. Scott approves major purchases, staffing and compensation changes, and significant changes to project commitments.

What we are looking for

  • Practical cabinetmaking experience, knowledge of production, and ability to read shop drawings.

  • Experience leading a crew or coordinating production; confidence giving direction, addressing mistakes respectfully, and holding people accountable.

  • Strong organization, quality standards, dependable attendance, and professional communication.

  • Willingness to work alongside the crew and learn unfamiliar systems. CNC, purchasing, maintenance, training, and scheduling experience are helpful.

Compensation and applying

Compensation will be discussed during the hiring process based on experience, demonstrated ability, and agreed responsibilities. Use the application form to describe your cabinetmaking and leadership experience, relevant work history, and the best way to reach you.
