The homeowners wanted more room to cook, entertain, and spend time with guests. Ivy worked directly with them to develop custom rift white oak cabinetry for the expanded kitchen. A generous island anchors the space, with storage accessible from both sides and room for preparation and gathering.
Project details
An expanded kitchen gave the Goode homeowners room to make entertaining part of everyday life. Their ideas guided the design, including the backsplash selection, while Ivy developed and built the frameless rift white oak cabinetry in house. The island provides both a working surface and a place to gather. Doors on its front and back make the storage beneath accessible from either side, putting the full depth of the island to use. Fitting the cabinetry into the existing home required close attention to the ceiling. Its low, uneven surface changed level in several places, so Ivy scribed the crown molding to follow those transitions. The kitchen became the starting point for further work. Ivy later built the laundry cabinetry and custom rift white oak interior doors, extending the material into other parts of the home.
