Symmetry guided the cabinetry design for this new home on Monkey Island, Oklahoma. Ivy developed and built a balanced kitchen wall, with a concealed butler’s pantry entrance mirroring the refrigerator opening. Black cabinetry, columns, and glass doors complete the composition, keeping the practical elements within the homeowner’s intended design.
Project details
The homeowner’s central request was clear: the main kitchen wall needed to be symmetrical. Serving as the builder as well, the homeowner worked directly with Ivy to develop the cabinetry around that idea. The panel-ready refrigerator and concealed butler’s pantry entrance established matching openings on opposite sides of the wall. Columns and glass doors completed the arrangement. Ivy aligned the mirrored composition within 1/16 inch, resolving the functional requirements within the balanced elevation. Ivy built the black frameless cabinetry in house, incorporating glass doors supplied by Elements Design. The concealed pantry entrance preserved the kitchen’s symmetry while providing access to a separate working space. Beyond the main kitchen, Ivy’s scope included cabinetry for the butler’s pantry, laundry, and primary bathroom.
